Erica has held a life-long passion of working with children and families in a variety of settings and has a heart for supporting families as they grow! She loves to learn and spends her time seeking education regarding families, communication, trauma, attachment, vulnerability, and empathy. She believes that we were all designed to walk hand-in-hand! Fueled by a desire to love and help others in the most optimal way possible, Erica went back to school and has a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. While in school, Erica facilitated prenatal classes at a birthing center with an aspiration to seek a career in midwifery. However, through this work, her desire to help families by bridging gaps in support through cultivating community, inspiring empowerment, and providing education was fully ignited and Erica felt called to help families beyond the birth world. She began asking friends in her various communities for recommendations of reputable, non-profit organizations to become involved with. Through church, she met a woman who is a Case Manager with Austin Angels. Erica loved reading and hearing about the work that Austin Angels does in the local community and knew she had to get involved! Erica was hired to partner with Austin Angels as a Case Manager in January of 2020 and is thrilled to walk alongside families with the community in Austin, Texas.
