Erika serves as Chief Impact Officer, bringing more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience to the role. She began her career in film production before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, where her work has consistently centered on meeting the critical needs of children – from those with life-altering medical conditions, to advocating for adoption, to supporting an orphanage and school in Haiti. She has helped raise tens of millions of dollars, connecting resources with the people and programs where they can have the greatest impact.
For years, Erika admired the Angels mission from afar. A chance connection after a virtual summit in 2022 led to a conversation with Founder Susan Ramirez, and months of dreaming, planning, and digging in together made it clear this was the next chapter. Drawn by the big vision and laser focus on one of the most at-risk populations in the country, she left her long-time role to join Austin Angels and the national network. Today, she focuses on both leading the impact and growth of Austin Angels and ensuring the success and expansion of the National Angels network. Her work is guided by a relational style, practical execution, and the belief that big change happens when people partner with purpose and a clear strategy. Originally from an island in the Pacific Northwest, Erika now lives in Texas with her husband and their three kids, Ryder, Scout, and Koda. Outside of work, she enjoys being outside, doing big art projects and dance parties with her kids, cooking together in the kitchen, and writing handwritten cards. |
