FOSTER CARE MONTH

austin angels

If this mission stirs something in you – don’t ignore it.

This National Foster Care Month, children and families across Austin are waiting for people willing to say yes. We have a proven model. We are changing the statistics. Now, we need people like you who are ready to step in and be part of that change. Because real change doesn’t happen all at once—it happens in the small, consistent moments. In showing up. In building trust. In choosing to be part of something bigger than yourself.

Consistent relationships improve educational attainment and long-term economic stability

During National Foster Care Month, we reflect on what it takes to truly change lives: a community stepping in, month after month, moment after moment. The statistics are real: when consistent adults show up, caregiver stability increases, youth stay on track to graduate, and emotional well-being improves. This work isn’t theoretical—it’s proven. We’re not hoping for better outcomes—we’re building them and measuring them every step of the way.

The foster care system is complex. The solution is not.

Reaching every child and family experiencing foster care will take a community—people willing to step in, build relationships, and be part of something bigger than themselves.

The road forward will be built by those who refuse to accept the statistics as final. Every number reflects something deeper—children matched, families supported, hours given—but behind every number is a name, a story, and a relationship that changed the trajectory of a life.
