Born and raised in EaglePass, Texas, Ytzel moved to San Marcos to pursue her education at Texas State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education (Grades 7–12). Her passion for mentoring and supporting others grew through her experience teaching in the New Arrival Center program, where she helped high school students develop the English language skills needed to thrive in a new country through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
After five years in education, Ytzel felt called to expand her impact by fostering meaningful relationships, empowering others, and serving her community in a new way. She joined Austin Angels in 2026 and is passionate about walking alongside children, youth, families, and volunteers as they build connections and find support. As a Case Manager, she believes that strong, authentic relationships have the power to create lasting change and strengthen communities.
Outside of work, Ytzel enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, and their rescue dog Romeo. You can find her in the gym lifting weights, on walks with her family, or at a coffee shop trying all the new seasonal drinks. As the youngest of five siblings and an aunt to nineteen nieces and nephews, she deeply values family, connection, and the joy of investing in others.
