EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH MENTORSHIP

Our Dare to Dream® program matches mentors with youth to navigate life's challenges together, providing advice, encouragement, and a supportive community. We believe that the simple act of telling a mentee "I believe in you," "You are special," and "You are going to do great things" can transform their journey entirely.

Mentors meet both practical and emotional needs, guiding their mentees through tailored developmental milestones. Mentors commit to meeting with their mentees every other week to set goals and help them achieve their dreams.

While the relationships ideally last a lifetime, the program is a one-year commitment.

After years of receiving anecdotal feedback attesting to the effectiveness of our programming, National Angels contracted with the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) to measure our impact of transformation across our programs. Our Dare to Dream® program shows:

Caregivers gave an average score of 10 out of 10 for the Dare to Dream® program.

of Dare to Dream® mentors indicated that they observed their matched youth’s confidence increase since being matched with them.
90%
of Dare to Dream® mentors responded that they “probably will” or “definitely will” remain connected to their matches after their commitment ends.
84%
of Dare to Dream® mentors reported high degrees of open and honest communication.
89%
of Dare to Dream® mentors reported genuinely enjoying spending time with their matched youth.
National Angels will continue to test, measure, and analyze customer-driven data to build evidence of service effectiveness to improve our programs and the lives we have the privilege of walking alongside.

Program Safety & Diversity

Protecting children, youth, and families experiencing foster care is our highest priority. That’s why fingerprinting and rigorous screening are required for every staff member and volunteer before they are matched and serve in our Love Box and Dare to Dream programs.

​Our thorough vetting process includes:
Fingerprinting (FBI, state DOJ, and local court checks)
State and federal background checks
Registry screening (child abuse, sex offender, and related registries)
DMV and Social Security number verification
Personal interviews and reference checks
Annual renewal of all clearances

This commitment ensures every person walking alongside a child or family is trustworthy, qualified, and dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment.
