I want you to continue to grow and rediscover yourself. I promise you're gonna see what I see, one amazing individual! Congratulations and we love you!" |
BAILEYBailey is an enthusiastic graduate ready to start her next adventure at Texas State University this fall. Bailey looks forward to volunteering in the community, attending church, making new friends, and fully experiencing college life.
Wants/Desires: Bailey would love a buddy to go shopping with for dorm room essentials. Having a companion for this milestone will make the experience even more special. Her message to Austin Angels: "My relationship with Austin Angels started in 2015. The first time we met our volunteers in person was at Taco Bell - they gave us tablets. I was so excited. We also went to a day camp with kids. My favorite thing I did with Austin Angels was a family camp; my bio mom & sister got to come and we stayed in a tree house. It was nice to spend time with my mom. Every time I was with my mentor (who was my foster mom and case manager before that), I could be totally myself and be the real me (my beautiful weird self) around honestly everyone there. Austin Angels has helped me through a lot. My mentor would try to plan stuff where we could spend time with my biological sister who I was never able to be placed with. I think Austin Angels really helps kids like me." Quote from her mentor: "I am honestly so proud of this kid. She inspires me. She has been through more than most and remains positive & has such a strong desire to help, support, and serve others." |
