STEVIE DICKSON
Probably at a concert, author, more than a conqueror, determined, Enneagram four.
Likes: Reality TV, live music, chips + queso, Dislikes: Seafood, traffic, snakes, weather above 85 degrees. Stevie was born right here in central Texas but moved all over most of her childhood. She eventually landed in New Mexico, where she spent her adolescent years and was taken in and adopted at the age of 20 by the best parents ever. Despite the trauma and hardships she faced during her upbringing, she made a promise to herself to keep fighting for her dreams and also help fight for others. Stevie moved to San Marcos in August 2017 to continue her education at Texas State University. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences in May 2020. During her last year of school she completed two internships with Austin Angels as well as became a mentor through the Dare to Dream program. She knew that with her lived experiences combined with her deeply rooted passion of advocating for children in foster care, that she wanted to be a part of the Austin Angels team in a deeper capacity. Stevie joined the team as a Case Manager in the fall of 2020 and was a case manager for 3.5 years before being promoted to Program Manager in January 2024. Stevie is a self published author of a memoir titled "Lost and Found", an avid concert attendee and loves swimming in the San Marcos River any chance she gets. Her weekends are occupied with watching movies, long river days and lots of laughs with her friends. |
